I’ve been a member with Naiad Irrigation for a few years now. Ever since Josaphat showed up on that very first day. Since that first day of inviting them to my irrigation issues they have been first class the whole time. Is their services pricey …. yes but completely worth every penny. They are professional, hard working, and always with a smile but mostly just know what the hell to do and fix the problems right the first time.
Just enjoyed Miguel Monroy for my spring activation. Miguel identified some issues that needed correction. Boom no problem, friendly, professional, and a job done with pride. Can’t recommend these irrigation professionals enough. The story continues with my enjoyment with the Naiad Irrigation Professionals.

I have been with Naiad for 19 years. I would never contact anywhere else. The service is truly excellent. No surprises, great quality of service and never an upsell. The technicians that arrive are all very polite as well as informative. Thank you to Jordan this last visit. It was excellent service, once again.

I use Niaid to service a very important client’s property. Josaphat, Spencer, Scott and Miguel came out to do the spring start up at a property with approximately 40 zones. They were extremely thorough. They fixed all problems they came across including digging up and adjusting 38 heads that had sunk and tilted over time. They also installed a hose bib attached to the main line of the irrigation to make water accessible in a remote area. They were careful to inspect all irrigation boxes, assess the valves, run the system from the control panel, test every circuit in use from the control panel and assess and adjust the spray coverage of the entire property. Niaid is not cheap but if you want extremely comprehensive service this is the company for you. Other companies I have used do not circuit test, and do not check the actual functioning of every head on the property. Niaid will provide you with a report including pictures of everything they checked. You will get your money’s worth and your system will work as effectively as it can. In my experience they fix problems during the start up and you won’t need them again until winterization because everything works for the whole summer as it should.

Ryland was on time for our appointment. He courteously met me at the door and introduced himself. I showed him where the valves were and left him to do the programming and make his observations of the various sprinkler heads and run-timing. When he was done, he rang the doorbell and explained very succinctly what he had accomplished. This young man is very good at his job and has superlative people-skills. I look forward to seeing him again if there is a further need for his services this season.

It all depends on where you live and the size of your property. In and around Calgary in 2021, $6,500-$8,500 for a complete residential underground sprinkler system, including mainline, pulling a permit, Wi-Fi timer and sprinklers.
The smallest residential irrigation system we installed in 2022 cost $4,500, and the most expensive was $15,000.
It all depends on weather. In Calgary, Alberta, we typically start turning on sprinkler systems on the first Monday in May. We tell clients they should have their irrigation system up and running by the Victoria Day Long Weekend.
Yes, you do. Every fall, most of the water must be expelled from the irrigation system. Otherwise, it will freeze, expand, and damage your underground irrigation system in the winter.
A sprinkler system should be winterized before overnight temperatures fall below zero degrees Celsius. For us here in Alberta, we recommend winterizing your irrigation system before the end of September.
We have had a few years when the overnight lows have been cold enough to damage the main waterline for the irrigation system as early as September 28th. Ultimately, you can run it later into the season, but there is always the risk that a cold overnight low could damage your irrigation system.
The bit of pipe that goes from the house to the valve box is most at risk. That bit of pipe is exposed to the elements and can freeze more easily than the pipes or sprinklers in the ground.
Yes, the device must be tested each year prior to turning on your irrigation system to ensure that the device is functioning properly.
During a spring activation service, an irrigation professional will turn on your irrigation system for the season. During the activation process the professional will go through the entire system to ensure that all heads are adjusted for proper coverage, check the programming of the system and identify any potential issues or repairs that may be needed on the system.
If there are any repairs or potential changes to be made to the system, the professional can provide an estimate for you, and in most cases, complete the repairs or changes during the activation appointment
